Photron FASTCAM Digital Video Recorder (DVR)

The world's first disk-based high-speed Digital Video Recorder.

Photron introduces the DVR, a high-resolution, high-speed CMOS digital imaging system that offers 30 minutes of full resolution recording at 500 frames-per-second (fps). Additionally, recordings at 1,000 and 2,000 fps can be made by reducing resolution.

The DVR writes images directly to fast 120-gigabyte compact and removable IDE hard drives for easy storage and recovery. This significantly reduces down-time between recording sessions by eliminating the time normally required to transfer images from RAM to hard drive.

For ease of operation, the DVR is equipped with a handheld control unit, which is secured to the front of the panel for easy access when not needed for remote operation.

The camera's sensor is a CMOS 640 x 480 pixel progressive scan (Bayer system color, single sensor) with global electronic shutter. Saved image formats include JPEG, AVI, TIFF, BMP and RAW (compressed or uncompressed).
